Leslie Knapp, MS, RD, LD
Assistant Director Administration, Nutrition Services- Biography
Leslie Knapp earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Western Michigan University. She earned a master’s degree in health sciences from Georgia State University’s coordinated nutrition program. She is a registered and licensed dietitian in the state of Georgia. In 2017, she was recognized as Young Dietitian of the Year by the Georgia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetic.
Using her education and experience, Leslie has developed the Student Nutrition Services program at Georgia State. She initiated the Healthy Habits program, a nutrition education program aimed to promote the health and wellness of Georgia State students. Leslie also meets individually with students for nutrition counseling to help educate and motivate them to meet their nutrition goals. She works collaboratively with Georgia State’s Counseling Center, PantherDining, Student Health Clinic and Student Health Promotion.
Leslie is passionate about helping students adopt healthier lifestyle habits. Her nutrition philosophy is individualized and evidenced-based with a focus on feasibility, balance and mindfulness. Leslie’s nutrition counseling interests include preventative wellness, intuitive eating, behavioral health and food insecurity. Leslie has experience with a wide range of nutrition concerns including chronic diseases, eating disorders, gastrointestinal issues and food allergies.
In her free time, Leslie enjoys yoga, music and walking her dog Ace. She enjoys cooking and loves trying different restaurants around Atlanta.
